Marie-Claude Lalique was the daughter of Marc Lalique, born in 1935. She studied theatre design at the Ecole Nationale Superieuse des Arts Decoratifs in Paris before becoming involved with the family business.
On the death of her father, she became the company’s principal designer. In the 1960s she designed jewellery and in the 1990s produced a range of perfumes. Her glass designs take inspiration from nature, just as her grand-father’s works had, but she had a particular interest in Africa and exotic animals and birds.
