On behalf of our sister auction house Freeman's | Hindman, we are delighted to present Design for Living: A Private Collection of Georg Jensen Silver at our Connaught Street Gallery in London W2 2AF on Tuesday 08 - Thursday 10 October 2024 from 10:00 - 16:00 each day.
Georg Jensen (1866–1935) was a Danish silversmith and designer, widely regarded for his high-quality craftsmanship and distinctive designs that combined practicality with artistic elegance. He founded the Georg Jensen company in 1904 in Copenhagen, which became renowned for its silverware, jewellery, and items for the home.
Design for Living: A Private Collection of Georg Jensen Silver draws from the zenith of the silversmith's design oeuvre and brings together iconic and rare examples of silver hollowware in a single collection. It represents decades of vigorous collection and understanding of the Georg Jensen firm's importance in design over 100 years, which includes pieces by Jensen himself, Johan Rohde, Harald Neilsen and Sigvard Bernadotte.
A selection of works from the sale, held in New York & online on Wednesday 11 December 2024, will be available to view in our Connaught Street gallery in London. Please contact us to find out further information.
