The pencil of slender form, the side and collars set with cabochon turquoise, all over engraved decoration, suspended from a trace-link chain; also suspending a turquoise-set fob seal, the matrix engraved with motto and crest; the other chain with a fine vinaigrette, the hinged with chased and engraved detail, set with cabochon turquoises, the inner hinged cover pierced and engraved with thistles, the vinaigrette formed from an amethyst with hollowed-out centre
