Of nautilus outline, chased scroll border with vacant cartouches to either side of body, supported by twin scroll branches with twisted vine detail, the central column to a domed fluted foot, presentation on a wooden plinth with matching applied plaque, engraved ‘PRESENTED TO/ JAMES CURRIE MACBETH ESQ/ PROVOST OF THE CITY OF DUNFERMLINE/ BY THE/ MAGISTRATES MEMBERS OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AND OFFICIALS/ ON THE OCCASION OF THE BIRTH OF HIS DAUGHTER DURING HIS TERM OF OFFICE/ 14TH NOVEMBER 1905’
