Footnote
The 'LTSR' can be traced back to the 1850s with the company dating from 1852. The original terminus was to be ‘Tilbury Fort’ to attract visitors to the nearby Rosherville Pleasure Gardens and across the river Thames to Gravesend using steamers. The company was taken over by Midland Railway in 1912.
