Description
120 x 19th-century albumen photographs, mostly unmounted, of Scottish views including Oban, Staffa, Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Iona, Perthshire and a small group of a scout camp at Loch Achray, Royal Deeside, mainly by G.W. Wilson and James Valentine, 28 x 18cm to 8.5 x 6cm, some with edge fading and edge or corner wear; 129 x photographs comprising 11 cut album pages, 2 with 29 small albumen photographs of Scottish views, 9 pages of silver gelatin family photographs, including 1 page with 6 photographs of Clune Lodge, Tomatin, 8 pages with 69 photographs pasted to both sides including Loch Awe, Kylesku Inn, Invershin, Kinnin Station, Oykel Bridge Inn, Invershin Hotel, Inchnadamph Post Office, Caledonian Hotel Ullapool, Glen Dubh, Torridon, Loch Achall, Glenfinnan Hotel, Crofters Cottage, all dated and annotated, c.1904 to 1906, and a further 25 loose photographs, sizes from 15 x 11 to 5.5 x 5.5cm, a number of these faded, particularly on album pages (245+)
