Note:
Ivor Robinson MBE was considered a master craftsmen and one of the finest artist bookbinders of his generation, if not the most important of the late 20th Century.
Robinson's bindings are held in private and public collections around the world, including the British Library; the Bodleian Library, Oxford and the Morgan Library and Museum, New York, and have been included in over one hundred exhibitions since 1951.
Due to the fact that he worked for much of his life as a teacher of the bookbinding craft, he restricted his fine binding commissions to only three a year. Consequently there are now only around 150 of his cover designs in exsistence, which makes his work comparatively rare.
