Footnote
Introduced in 1968, the Philippine ring was part of the now famous La Boutique range of “everyday jewels” from Van Cleef & Arpels. The collection included various jewels set with “semiprecious” gems, hardstones and organic material, such as coral, which would make the collection more accessible and suitable for daytime wear. The most famous jewel to debut from this range was the Alhambra collection.
