This is an extremely rare inkwell design. The only other inkwell that was produced in black glass was the Biches design. Two other examples of the Hibou inkwell are known to exist, one in the V & A collection, London (ascension number C1491-B1924) and the other was offered for sale at Sotheby's, New York in 2016.
