Provenance
This watch was the property of a gentleman from Angus in Scotland. A Chartered Surveyor by trade, his true passion was for motorcycles and his collection numbered over twenty at its peak. He often raced, along with his brother. One race was the TT - Tourist Trophy - which takes place on the Isle of Man. In 1988, around the time of the purchase of this watch, his friend whom he sponsored - George Linder - triumphed at the Manx Grand Prix riding a Yamaha motorcycle. The watch was used by our gentleman to time each lap. In earlier years, he also enjoyed car racing, including in his MG and was a member of the BRDC. His good friend was Ron Flockhart, an Edinburgh racing driver who raced in fourteen Formula One Grand Prix. Flockhart won the 1956 and 1957 24 of Le Mans races.
