Footnote
For a similar type, referred to as a ‘House Model’, in the Khalili Collection of Islamic Art, see accession number POT1047. Within their note, it is thought that the model may have been used in Buddhist temples. This could be plausible due to the openwork decoration around the sides suggesting it may have well have been used as an incense burner in a temple setting.
