Mirza Gholam Reza Esfahani, better known as Khoshnevis, was a well known 19th century Persian master calligrapher, born in Tehran. He often signed ‘Ya Ali Madad', as in the case of these two works, which translates as: ‘may the great exalted Allah help you’.
