Under the right conditions and over extensive periods, buried wood tissue can fossilize as minerals carried by water gradually infiltrate it. In this case, the wood fossilized near a copper deposit, leading to vibrant copper mineral inclusions that appear as striking streaks of blue, yellow, green, and red.
