Footnote
Mould-blown vessels featuring grape patterns seldom include handles, with the majority of examples being handleless flasks. For two additional single-handled jugs, refer to E. Marianne Stern's The Toledo Museum of Art: Roman Mould-blown Glass (Toledo, 1995, pp. 193-4, nos. 125-6). Jug no. 126 displays a similar applied thread decoration and vestigial leaf motifs at the shoulder. The colour combination of the body and handle of this particular vessel is notably rare.
