Note: The British Museum has a trade card [D,2.236] for Bickley & Lardner, 'metal tradesman, stove grate makers, and furnishing ironmongers', which lists them as makers of "Compleat Sets of Kitchen Furniture of Copper, Iron, Double Block Tin &c' and 'Ranges with Ovens, Boilers, Ironing Stoves &c". They were located at 2 Berners Street, Oxford Street. A comparable grate of very similar proportions, by the same maker, is in the Yellow Drawing Room at Wimpole Hall, designed by Sir John Soane.
