Description
the bronzed spelter female of Venus with Cupid at her side holds the glass-bobbed pendulum over the polished black stone case with lion-head masks to the sides, canted corners, gilt foliate decoration around the 4 inch black dial with incised gilt numerals, ornate hinged bezel and gilt shade hands, on a moulded plinth and lion's paw feet, the twin-barrel movement with external countwheel strike on a bell, the backplate stamped ‘Brevete, GLT, S.G.D.G’ and numbered ‘134’, the twin train movement striking to a bell with crank and stirrup escapement impulsing the pendulum through the base of the statue
