Note:
The Yue kilns flourished since before the Tang dynasty and produced one of the first official Chinese ceramic ware. Octagonal vases were mainly used as water vessels for washing hands, a similar vase with ringed neck was unearthed in 1987 from the tomb of Famen temple at Fufeng of Shaanxi province. Another of pale celadon glaze is currently part of the National Palace Museum collection.
